When Jim & Diane Burtch got married in 2000, they decided to build a new home on the Manistee River. When family and friends came to visit, they often remarked how nice the guest room was and what a great bed and breakfast their home would make. In 2004, the Burtch’s decided they wanted to share this beautiful view of the river with others and that was the beginning of The Burtch House Bed & Breakfast.
The guests they have had come from all walks of life and have been a delight to visit with as they share breakfast with each other while overlooking the river. Their guests have been referred to them by their webpage, the Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses. They have even hosted some of the participants of the AuSable Canoe Marathon, including one team which stayed with them before the room was finished. They slept on mattresses on the floor and did canoe repairs in the sitting room.
The hosts Diane and Jim Burtch are long standing members of the Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce and look forward to helping their guests experience the many activities the area has to offer, such as fishing and canoeing, which can be done right out their back door.
