Art Journaling 101- Creating Backgrounds

Art Journaling is a course study for men and women of all ages and experience – beginners, hobbyists, and people who like to work in a group setting.  All are Welcome! There is a world of skills, techniques and ideas to explore.

Students will explore and experiment with mixed media and water based materials to create backgrounds from which to build art journal pages, cards, scrapbooks, or multi-layered art.

This is the first of a series of journaling classes.  Subjects such as Journal Covers, Writing and Storytelling, Junk Journals, Mini-books, and more are being planned as follow-up classes.

Students’ supply list:  Spiral bound 9×12 sketch/mixed media book, 90lb weight; assorted markers, pens, colored pencils.  These  items can be purchased as a “starter kit” on the first day of class for $15.  Other supplies can be brought from home and may include: scissors, watercolors,glue sticks, and ModPodge.
