How to Write a Story

July 15 - July 18

$20

June 15-18, 2019
10:30am-12:00pm each day
Artisan Village Gallery

Imagine a simple piece of paper that can horrify, excite, sway opinions, give joy, and convey truth and wonder. Creative writing is any form of effective writing designed to entertain, educate, or express thoughts.

When you write great fiction, poetry, a play, or nonfiction amazing things can happen.  The work may not become a bestseller, but who knows?  Your family and friends will think your story, blog, play or journal entry is  awesome.

The best way to increase your proficiency in creative writing is to write.  But there are certain things you should know first.  Starting with the plot, characters, and setting as the basics of any good story, Cathy Lester will show middle and high school students how to weave words into art.  Mrs. Lester, a Grayling writer and blogger, will lead writers in creative and fun exercises to learn the fundementals of creative writing.
