Wellington Farm USA Opens for Season

June 20 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Wellington Farm USA to Open June 20, 2020

There is no doubt that the Corona Virus has created a great change in our personal lives, in the way we do business and the way we spend our leisure time.  Wellington Farm USA is no exception.  Our scheduled opening day of May 22 is long past.  Our first major event of the season, a Civil War Reenactment was canceled.   The management and staff of the 60-acre living history complex has spent a great deal of time in the planning of a program that will provide visitors the historical and educational experience they are anticipating and still stay safe and comply with the conditions outlined by our governor.

Wellington Farm USA will open for the season at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, but things will be different this year!   To begin with, it is suggested that face masks be worn in the store and in the museum.   This season, there will be no shuttle ride into the historic portion of the park and there will not be a guided tour.  Visitors will be provided a map with a suggested route.  All of the historic buildings will be open and, if enough volunteers can be assembled, most buildings will be staffed with a historical interpreter.  In some cases, entrances may be cordoned off or passageways clearly marked to assure that the proper social distancing is maintained.   Groups will be limited to family members only.  Face masks are not required within the park.

Most of the remaining events on the Farm’s schedule are still taking place.   Sticky Buns Day is still on June 27 and the Quilt Show will still be held on July 18 & 19.   The Tractor Show scheduled for August 14, 5 & 16 has been canceled.   However, Wellington Farm USA is pleased to announce that a new and bigger Civil War Reenactment has been scheduled for August 21, 22 & 23.

Wellington Farm USA apologizes for any inconvenience the changes in programming may have  caused, but the ultimate goal of the 60-acre living history complex is to provide the best historical and educational experience possible while still keeping all visitors and interpreters safe.

Wellington Farm USA is a 60-acre living history complex depicting life as it was lived in a Midwestern farming community during the Great Depression.

Wellington Farm, USA is located at 6944 S. Military Road southwest of Grayling.  The farm is easily accessed from either Exit 251 of I-75 or Exit 206 of US-127.
