OVER 300 MEMBERS AND STILL GROWING!
Today’s Hunter Education Program offers much more than just gun safety training. It includes comprehensive training in first aid, orienteering, game identification, game laws, hunter ethics and shooting and hunting skills. Each class at our Club includes both classroom training and “on-the-range” experience with every-thing from .22 rim-fire to black powder muzzle loaders. With over a dozen Club Members who generously volunteer their time to help with the training program, the Club’s efforts have been instrumental in reducing the hunting related fatality rate from high double digits in the 1950’s to virtually zero today.
We don’t charge for the class. The Club provides the ranges and ammunition. Various donations have funded the purchase and acquisition of six .22 rim-fire single shot rifles, a youth size 20 ga. semi-auto shotgun, archery equipment, arrows and targets.
